Conviction data stays online for up to 10 years after sentencing. Pending cases appear until the court resolves them. The daily docket feature is useful if you need to know what cases are on the calendar at a Fairfield County court on a given day. Connecticut's Freedom of Information Act under C.G.S. 1-200 gives the public the right to access most government records, and court docket records fall under this umbrella. Fairfield County Probate Court Dockets

Probate matters in Fairfield County go through separate Probate Courts. These courts handle estates, wills, trusts, guardianships, conservatorships, and name changes. Probate docket records use a different search tool. The Connecticut Probate Court Case Lookup covers cases from 2011 forward. Older probate docket records may need to be requested from the local Probate Court directly. Probate records are generally public, but some documents involving minors or protected persons may be sealed by the court.

Getting Copies of Fairfield County Docket Records

You can get copies of court docket records from any Fairfield County courthouse during business hours. Walk into the clerk's office and ask for the file by case name or docket number. Copies cost $1.00 per page. Certified copies cost $2.00 per document plus the page fee. Bring a photo ID. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at most locations.

For cases that have been closed and moved to storage, contact the Superior Court Records Center in Enfield. You can email your request to SuperiorCourtRecordsCenter@jud.ct.gov or call (860) 741-3714. Include the full case name and docket number. Staff will pull the file and let you know how to get copies. Disposed Fairfield County court docket records get transferred to Enfield once the case is fully resolved and the retention period at the local courthouse expires.

Transcripts are a separate matter. Court transcript fees for Fairfield County cases run $3.00 per page for regular service. Next-day service costs $6.35 per page. Audio recordings of proceedings cost $25 per day per docket number for hearings from November 2018 onward.
